CHANNEL SIEVER

The first step towards an efficient treatment plant!

The Gratt channel sieve integrates the stages of separation, transport, washing and compaction of solids into a single piece of equipment.

The Gratt Channel Sieve was developed for the mechanical separation of floating, settleable and suspended solids present at the beginning of industrial and sanitary effluent treatment processes. It is a complete solution that brings together, in a single piece of equipment, the functions of sieving, washing, transporting, compacting and dehydrating retained solids, offering efficiency, robustness and operational reliability.

It is installed directly in an open channel or in a metal box, facilitating implementation, reducing civil works costs and protecting pumps, pipes and subsequent stages of the treatment system.

How does it work?

The effluent enters through the front opening of the rotating filter drum, made up of a bar screen or perforated plate. The liquid passes through the filter element and continues its course, while the solids are retained on the surface of the mesh.

As waste builds up and the level rises upstream, ultrasonic sensors automatically trigger the drum to rotate, exposing new clean areas to the flow. During rotation, brushes and water jets continuously clean the screen.

The solids removed fall into a collector with a helical screw conveyor without a central axis, which takes the material out of the sieve. During transport, waste is washed, compacted and dewatered, significantly reducing the volume before disposal.

Differences

  • Integration of the separation, washing, transport, compaction and dehydration steps into a single piece of equipment;
  • Self-cleaning system with automatic activation by ultrasonic level control;
  • Robust stainless steel construction;
  • Continuous operation;
  • Low maintenance;
  • Easy integration with other process steps.

Applications

Recommended for sanitary sewage treatment plants (ETE), water treatment plants (ETA) and industrial pre-treatment systems. Applicable in food, refrigeration, textile, chemical, petrochemical, beverage and other processes that require efficient removal of coarse solids.

Sizing and selection

The model is chosen according to the design flow, solid particle size, channel dimensions and operational requirements, ensuring hydraulic efficiency and maximum material retention.

Construction

Made from AISI 304 or 316L stainless steel, the sieve is highly resistant to corrosion and aggressive environments.

It is available with diameters from 750 to 1,000 mm and screen openings varying between 1 and 6 mm, and can also be supplied with mesh sizes between 3 and 8 mm, depending on the flow rate, channel dimensions and characteristics of the solids.

The equipment is installed with a standard inclination of 35°, ensuring maximum interception of the hydraulic flow.
