High separation efficiency even with very fine particles!
Purification of products with high added value
The GIC Gratt Vertical Centrifuge is a high-speed equipment developed for continuous phase separation due to density differences, using extremely high centrifugal forces to promote clarification, purification and solid-liquid or liquid-liquid-solid separation with high efficiency.
Designed for applications with low solids content (generally less than 3%), the technology is recommended for processes that require a high degree of fine particle removal and excellent quality of the clarified liquid. Depending on the model, the equipment can achieve centrifugal forces of up to 12,000–13,000 times the acceleration of gravity, drastically accelerating natural sedimentation and ensuring fast, stable and continuous separations.
Its compact concept, combined with automatic operation and uninterrupted work regime, makes the vertical centrifuge a robust solution for industrial plants that require high performance with a reduced installation area.
How does it work?
The separation process occurs by applying intense centrifugal force inside the rotor.
The product is fed from the top of the equipment and directed to the set of internal disks. These discs significantly increase the effective sedimentation area, reducing the particle separation distance and accelerating the clarification process.
Under high rotation:
- Solids quickly settle towards the drum wall;
- Liquid phases stratify according to their densities;
- The clarified liquid migrates to the central region and is continuously discharged.
Accumulated solids are automatically removed through intermittent rotor openings, keeping the equipment clean and allowing continuous operation without frequent stops.
This set guarantees high removal efficiency, including fine particles that would not be captured by gravitational processes or conventional separators.
