GFAD SE Circular Float
Compact dissolved air flotation for treating industrial and sanitary effluents.
Gratt expands its portfolio with the arrival of circular flotation devices, offering an advanced flotation solution for industrial and sanitary effluent treatment systems. This constructive geometry provides highly efficient performance, combining robustness, compact format and excellent cost-benefit.
The circular format stands out for its constructive simplicity, which contributes to more agile and economical manufacturing, in addition to facilitating transport and installation. As it takes up less space in the plant and allows better use of the available area, the equipment becomes especially attractive for projects with physical or budgetary limitations, without compromising performance.
The GFAD SE Circular Floaters use dissolved air flotation technology (DAF – Dissolved Air Flotation), widely used in the treatment of industrial and sanitary effluents and in water polishing, ensuring high efficiency in the removal of suspended solids, oils, grease and algae.
How does it work?
Circular floaters use dissolved air flotation technology, a process in which microbubbles of air adhere to flocculated particles in suspension, promoting their rise to the surface of the tank.
Part of the effluent is recirculated, pressurized and saturated with air. After depressurization, microbubbles form that adhere to the flakes, reducing their apparent density and facilitating flotation. The circular geometry promotes radial distribution of the flow, ensuring greater uniformity of contact between bubbles and particles.
Floated sludge is continuously removed by surface scrapers, while the clarified effluent goes to subsequent stages or reuse.
Advantages of the GFAD SE Gratt Circular Floatator
Differences
With this new solution, Gratt expands its capacity to serve projects of different sizes, offering an effective alternative to the rectangular models already established in its collection.
- Compact and robust design, ideal for small spaces;
- Low manufacturing cost, with high operational performance;
- Uniform flow distribution, minimizing dead zones;
- High efficiency in removing suspended solids, oils and grease;
- Continuous and efficient scraping system, with silent removal of flotation materials;
- Reduction in the generation of secondary sludge and odor control, promoting greater sustainability in the process;
- Easy integration with existing systems.
Applications
They are especially effective in treating effluents with a high load of suspended solids, oils, grease and algae, ensuring excellent performance even in more complex processes.
Gratt's circular floaters are suitable for a wide range of industrial segments, such as:
- Food industry (slaughterhouses, dairy, beverages);
- Paper and cellulose;
- Chemical and petrochemical industry;
- Treatment of sanitary effluents;
- Water reuse and polishing of secondary effluents.
Sizing of the GFAD SE Floatator
The GFAD SE Circular Floater is sizing based on the design flow, effluent characteristics, concentration of suspended solids, oils, greases and polluting load.
The compact configuration with uniform hydraulic distribution allows a high surface application rate, better use of the installed area and integration with coagulation, flocculation and biological treatments steps.
The choice between circular or rectangular floaters will depend on the specific characteristics of each application. Our technical team is prepared to guide you in selecting the most appropriate solution.
Construction and engineering
The circular geometry favors the radial distribution of the flow, providing more homogeneous and efficient phase separation.
Unlike traditional systems with multiple blades, chains and gears, Gratt's circular floaters use scraper arms driven directly on the central axis, increasing the simplicity of the assembly, reducing components subject to wear and facilitating technical interventions.
- Circular tank with reduced height;
- Recirculation and microbubble generation system;
- Contact chamber for mixing microbubbles with flocculated effluent;
- Surface scrapers for continuous removal of float sludge.
