Os GRATT Vitrified Steel Tanks These are storage structures made up of bolted carbon steel sheets, coated with vitreous enamel on their internal and external surfaces. This coating is obtained through a thermal process in which a layer of nickel oxide (base) and a layer of glass (finish) are fused to the steel at approximately 850°C, ensuring total adhesion to the material — not a painting, but a permanent fusion.
This process gives the tank high chemical and mechanical resistance, resulting in a useful life that can reach 30 years, even in severe applications. The vitrified surface is smooth, waterproof and highly resistant to corrosion, abrasion and wear, making the equipment ideal for industrial and environmental applications.
Manufacturing takes place from calendered steel sheets, brushed and coated with glass powder, subsequently fused to steel. Assembly is carried out by screwing together the vitrified sheets, allowing for quick, modular construction with high structural quality.
Vitrified tanks are widely used in water and wastewater treatment, as well as applications that require safe and durable storage. Its inert surface prevents contamination, and is also suitable for storing drinking water.
